My work takes the form of progressive, process driven drawings that follow pre-set rules, and selective limitation of forms and figure elements. Much of my practice stems from the idea that drawing can be equal parts gratifying and frustrating. I am not a camera recreating what I see, nor a printer rendering my thoughts. The real world is so complex and the imagination so mercurial that a shortfall of versimilitude is inevitable. I am interested in pursuing the impulse to draw by taking simple, figurative mark-making elements or methods and pushing them through multiple possible iterations to explore their limits.
I studied at Hull School Art Design, I am a committee member of RED contemporary arts.
